About Magnus Energy
Solar energy, accessible to every Juan.
Magnus was founded in Dumaguete City in 2019 with no outside capital and one conviction: that the Philippines’ factories, shops, hospitals and homes should be able to run on the sun without waiting for a multinational to arrive. Seven years on, we are one of the country’s most-built independent solar companies — and still headquartered in Negros Oriental.
Our story
2019
Magnus Renewable Tech Corp incorporated (8 April) in Dumaguete City. First EPC projects in Negros Oriental. Bootstrapped from zero.
2020
Expansion into Mindanao and Luzon. Brand identity established.
2021
Magnus-Energy Corporation incorporated as the parent company and owner of the solar lease asset book. Solar lease programme launched.
2022–2023
Multi-megawatt sites delivered for regional malls, hospitals and manufacturers. Nationwide crews established. “Solar for every Juan” community campaign.
2024
Investment from the Asia Energy Transition Platform (AETP), a Singapore-based private equity fund advised by Climate Smart Ventures (announced 31 October 2024).
2025
6.55 MWp at Naic, Cavite delivered as EPC partner to an international C&I solar developer. EPC partnerships established with two further regional platforms. O&M line of business established.
2026
Contracted as O&M contractor for a global energy major’s Visayas–Mindanao solar portfolio (July). First co-ownership financing structure executed (August). 32.6 MWp energised nationwide (September).
Founding leadership team
Karl Ivan Estadola
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
A licensed electrical engineer, Karl founded Magnus in 2019 after building the solar business at a Japanese EPC firm and leading a wind-turbine startup he took to international competition. He holds a Philippine patent for a counter-rotating wind turbine, read electrical engineering at Adamson University as a DOST scholar, and completed the Asian Institute of Management’s entrepreneurship programme.
Rennis Siegue
Co-Founder & Project Director
Rennis spent fourteen years at sea, rising to marine chief engineer on Norwegian offshore vessels, before coming ashore to run solar installations in Negros Oriental. He co-founded Magnus in 2019 and is accountable for site supervision and build quality. The offshore safety discipline he trained under is the one he runs our sites by.
Beda Escobedo
Chief Operating Officer & Treasurer
An accountant by training, Beda began his career in internal audit before spending a decade in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain preparing and closing bids for oil and gas contractors. At Magnus he runs day-to-day operations, procurement and supplier relationships, and serves as Treasurer.
